Today is May 4, or “Star Wars Day” to fans of the sci-fi series. May the Fourth Be with You

Today is May 4, or “Star Wars Day” to fans of the sci-fi series. The day is a pun on the famous Star Wars line “May the Force be with you.” Well I thought I would highlight Star Wars Day because the story of a galaxy far, far away ties in nicely with our upcoming theme for Ci 4.0—space exploration!

Now, we won’t be fighting droids with light sabers or protecting the galaxy from unbridled evil, but we will be programming robots and looking to see what God’s Word says about the idea of extraterrestrial life. Each of our campers who attend any of our summer camps (teen overnight, teen day, kids camp, and family camp) will get to travel off to far away galaxies and stars themselves through the immersive experience of the Stargazer’s Planetarium at the Creation Museum. And those who attend teen overnight or family camp will also get to use world-class telescopes to look at the heavens to see heavenly objects like planets, star clusters, nebula, and constellations with Answers in Genesis’ astronomer Dr. Danny Faulkner (I doubt you’ll spot the Death Star though!). This is just a small sampling of the many activities we’ll do during Ci 4.0 summer camps.

Science fiction is a great way for us to dream about new technologies that might help man fight against the immediate effects of the Curse. Or these technologies might help us discover more about God’s beautiful creation. But, living in a sinful, fallen world where technology and knowledge can be used for evil, we need to be careful that we think biblically about technology. That’s one of the things we do at Camp Infinity—we equip campers to have a theology of technology so they can view technology through the lens of God’s Word.

I encourage you to apply for Ci 4.0 today! Learn more at CampInfinity.com.
