Most people know Camp Infinity (Ci) as a summer camp…so what do we do in between summers to keep busy? Answer: we do Ci Mini, Ci Mobile, and Ci Remote camps!
Ci Mobile camps take place where the campers are, whether the campers be a homeschool, public, or Christian school students or part of a church group. Over the course of Ci 4.0 (which began in August, 2016), we’ve travelled to:
Now that’s a lot of driving—21,382 miles to be exact—to deliver a Bible-based theology of technology through our God & Robots Workshop to 1,040 campers. We’re thrilled we’ve been able to impact over 1,000 campers through this unique workshop in just a few months!
This much driving has certainly racked up the miles on my vehicles that are used to get us there as well as the robots, iPads, computers, and other necessary supplies. So now that my personal vehicles are ready for a well-earned retirement, we’re raising money to purchase our very first stow-and-go camp van. This camp van will have enough room for all the equipment and staff.
What is a Robots & God Workshop?
Through a God & Robots Workshop young people are exposed to STEM as they build and program a Lego Mindstorm robot. They also learn valuable collaboration and teamwork skills, as they must work together to successfully get their robot working. And, most importantly, they look to God’s Word for a biblical view on the technology that’s all around us. They learn about being made in God’s image—distinctly different from the animal kingdom and man-made artificial intelligence—and they hear a clear message of the gospel.
If this sounds like a workshop the young people in your school or church group would enjoy, I encourage you to learn more and request a workshop at CampInfinity.com.
