Camp Infinity Counselors Love God’s Word, STEM, and Our Campers

Our year round team works hard throughout the year putting together the perfect summer team of counselors to teach, support, and encourage our campers over the summer. It’s so neat to see each year how God takes a group of college students, with very different backgrounds, and knits them close together as they serve Him by serving our campers.

Here’s what some of our counselors had to say about Ci 4.0:

The size of the staff was great! I've been in a staff size of more than 80 people, and I could really only get to know a few people and many cliques formed. The size of this staff could really get to know each other well, which also helps when working together and we could all really go to each other for anything.

Camper-Counselor ratio. Overall, I do really like the idea of a smaller ratio, because you are able to really get to know each camper individually. At another camp, I normally had 13-15 campers, and that got hard sometimes.

I really love the idea behind Career Night! I thought that it was neat to engage the campers from our perspectives and they seemed to be excited to learn about each aspect of STEM. I also liked having 'guest' speakers come and talk as well, it really gave campers even more opportunities to learn.

The best part of the five weeks of camp was by far the team. Over the course of the five weeks, we went from being a team to being a family. God blessed us greatly. We did too many things together to count.

God blessed me with many good campers during my time at Camp Infinity. I had leaders, followers, philosophers, jokers, nerds, and everything in between. God always gave me the campers he knew I needed and could handle. I guarantee I learned far more from them then they learned from me.

Our counselors are a vital part of what makes Ci such a great experience for academically-inclined young people. Each of our counselors are either working in or studying a STEM field and can give hands-on help and practical experience to our campers. Getting to talk with a variety of people in many different fields can help your young person narrow down what field of STEM they would like to concentrate in and can inspire and encourage them as they look towards the future. It’s always great to have a real person to answer your questions and provide direction!

And not only that, each of our counselors have a passion for encouraging young people in STEM and pointing them towards God’s Word and the gospel—and that’s a very dynamic combination!

I’ll end with this encouraging comment from one of our counselors (who was a former camper):

“If anyone has kids grades 7th through 12th that love to learn and never give up, Camp Infinity is waiting for them!”
