Interested in Recording a Podcast?

Podcasting is becoming one of the most popular ways to creating content in today’s online world. Five is the average number of shows listened to per week among the 42 million Americans who listen to podcasts on a weekly basis.

Here are some simple steps you can take to record your first podcast with what you already have at home.

  • A recording device. Most smartphones and computers give you the ability to record your voice.
  • Software/Apps. Apple users can use GarageBand, which comes pre-installed on your Macintosh and is also available in the App Store on your iPhone. PC users can download Audacity for free.
  • A microphone. If you’re just getting started, you may use the microphone on your headphones. As you advance, I recommend the ATR-2100 from Audio-Technica.
  • Search for “podsafe” music. Podsafe music is the term for audio that can be legally used in a podcast and is free for others to download.

There are tons of great resources online that will help you in the process of starting a podcast. Choosing a topic and thinking about how you will benefit your audience is the most important aspect of podcasting.

We can’t wait to hear what you’ll record!

He also loves reading. Throughout his life he has been a dreamer, imagining a never ending series of what ifs and maybes. From a young age, God gave him a passion for learning all he could about the world around him.
